SPAR and The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght
SPAR has kick-started €200,000 planned investment in new charity partner, The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght with an innovative social media campaign.
SPAR’s official charity partnership programme, which is now entering its eighth year, will not only provide essential funding for facility upgrades and equipment, but will also help to create greater awareness of the charity’s fantastic work through the convenience retailer’s nationwide network of stores.
Suzanne Weldon, Marketing & Communications Director of SPAR said, “The National Children’s Hospital impacts the lives of countless children everyday from across the country, so we’re expecting great support from our retailers and customers. Our partnership with the Hospital gives us a wonderful opportunity to give back to families throughout Ireland by enhancing children’s health services, and to play our part in supporting Ireland’s future generations.
We appreciate there is a lot of competition for people’s generosity at this time of year so we were keen to do something new and innovative for our charity partner.”
Commenting on the announcement, Ciara O’Grady, Fundraising Manager, the National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght, said, “We are delighted to have been chosen as SPAR’s official charity partner, essentially earning us over 14,000 brand ambassadors through retailers and staff in communities across Ireland. We greatly appreciate the effort and enthusiasm of everyone at SPAR and look forward to what we’re sure will be a very successful partnership. On behalf of the staff, the parents and the children who attend The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght, we would like to thank SPAR for their support.”
Through its previous partnership with 3Ts (Turn the Tide of Suicide), SPAR raised over €1 million which helped fund the organisation’s work towards helping to lower suicide rates in Ireland.
As part of the partnership SPAR will raise money from the sale of SPAR Own Brand products, in-store collection box contributions, and various local and national fundraising initiatives.
