1 city, 5 stores…
SPAR Baggot mile began December 2005 in Merrion Row and still going strong with our latest edition SPAR 47/48 Baggot St, we started off with a vision of how we seen convenience food, we where the first Insomnia Sit Down within a spar store also we employed Chefs which was new at the time.
Our vision was to produce everything in store to add to the Rustic Authentic food offering we had, Our location dictated that our client base where educated in good food and demanded this.
I began my retail Career-leaving school at 15 to graduating to a Managers Position in Superquinn where I was trained and guided by Great People like Pat Kelly, Cormac Tobin and Feargal Quinn, they thought me the Ethos of Good Food and exceptional Customer Service. After meeting with John Clohesy about moving to SPAR I discovered that SPAR’s ethos was the exact same and to this day is the foundation of all our stores.
We produce all our own Fresh Food and Cakes sourcing all products from Irish Suppliers and where possible Irish Growers through the SPAR supply chain. Buying and supporting Irish companies is very important to us and our customers.
When opening and developing new stores with SPAR we use Irish Builders and all our Equipment is supplied by Irish Companies.
We started in 2005 with SPAR Merrion Row, opening Number 2 in Upper Baggot St, from there Number 3, SPAR Lower Mount Street then Number 4 SPAR Gourmet the first of its kind in Ireland a real foody offering type of store then Number 5 was SPAR 47/48Lower Baggot St. We are currently looking to expand as we feel the Irish Market appreciates what we offer…
